Vision: For Fitness, For Fun, For Everyone

MPC is a non-profit, volunteer, community-based organization. Please let us know where you can volunteer your strengths as the club expands.  Volunteers are welcomed and needed.

How do I join / register to be a member?

Registration:
Annual Membership and Renewals: it is an easy process to “Join/Renew”.  You will register with Pickleball Canada, Pickleball Ontario and Mono Pickleball Club annually (you will receive a registration reminder email annually). Membership runs from January to December for each membership year. Registration after October 1st is for the following membership year.  The annual cost to register with Pickleball Canada, Pickleball Ontario is $10.00 ea.  and Mono Pickleball Club fee is $80.00 for 2025.  Fees may vary annually.

What does my membership include?

Regular play on the outdoor courts at Mono College Park for no additional fee.  There is an additional fee for clinics/instruction and special events.

Our club officially opens for outdoor play in May.

What does MPC offer for indoor play?

MPC is officially an outdoor club. During the past few years MPC has rented limited indoor space to play throughout Oct-May. This is an "add on", with limited spots for members. Those interested must sign up and pay the rental fee in advance.  All indoor space is at capacity at this time (April 2025).

How do I learn to use SignUp Genius?

MPC has created a guide that will help you register for a free account and understand how the program functions.
Click < here > to download the "SignUp Genius Instructions" file.
Once you have created a SUG account, all sign ups that you are eligible for will appear in your free account.  Weekly sign ups open Thursdays at 6pm for the following week.

Do I have to live in the Town of Mono or Dufferin County to join MPC?

No, place of residence is not a condition to join MPC.

Can I book courts in advanced?

At Mono College Park, MPC has dedicated hours for our members and the court schedule and programs are posted on the website for each upcoming season.  There are some timeslots designated as "Reserve a Court" for members to book a court and arrange for personal games.

You can also arrange pick up games when courts are available.

Is there organized play?

There is organized play for all levels most days of the week.  This is part of the court schedule posted prior to the season opening (however it may be adjusted as needed throughout the season). You must use Sign Up Genius (SUG) to reserve your spot to play during these timeslots. Your name will appear in your level when you are in SUG. You cannot just "show up" to play during these organized timeslots.

How can I change my "level" of play?

You can request a change of level and a coach will evaluate your skill level. The Skills Evaluation Procedure is found on this page of our website:

https://www.monopickleballclub.com/constitution-bylaws-policies

How do I arrange for a lesson or a clinic?

Beginner/Novice Clinics:

The club has  seven Level 1 and two Level 2 NCCP Certified Instructors.  Scheduled clinics and lessons will be posted on the website and communicated in our newsletter.  You can find additional information and register for upcoming clinics, private or semi- private lessons here:

Can we bring friends to play that are not MPC members?

Yes, the member is required to reserve a court, pay a fee, and have a signed waiver for each guest. Refer to the Guest Policy if you would like to bring a non member to play.
Note: a resident of Dufferin County can purchase a Court Pass through the Town of Mono and play during certain (non MPC) hours.

Equipment paddles, balls, shoes, clothing

Paddles: Do I need to purchase my own paddle?
The Mono Pickleball Club has paddles for new members that they can try out before they purchase their own paddle. There are many locations where you can purchase a paddle. It is recommended that you purchase a composite paddle (not wood or aluminum).

Balls: Do I need to bring my own pickle balls?

Yes, always bring a few balls when you come to play for personal use.

During organized sign up play, balls are provided if there is a court monitor, otherwise members share their own pickle balls.

The hoppers and included balls are for sanctioned MPC Clinics and lessons only.

Shoes: What type of footwear/shoes should I wear?
Any type of shoe that is for court use (not running shoes) and designed to support motion in all directions. If you have mobility or balance concerns, you may want to consult a “foot” specialist to select an appropriate type of shoe for this sport.
